18/30 (36) kV AXLJ-F TT 1-core CAS cable is an outdoor single-core aluminum-conductor power cable specifically designed for medium-voltage power distribution and complies with European standards such as HD 620. Its key advantage lies in its superior water resistance. Through a water-blocking structure in the conductor and a water-blocking expansion tape beneath the metallic shield, it achieves dual water resistance—both longitudinal and radial—enabling direct burial in soil that is perpetually damp or even in fresh water. The cable features cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulation, with a long-term operating temperature of up to 90°C for the conductor and up to 250°C during a short circuit; its CAS metallic shield consists of copper wires and polyethylene-coated aluminum foil, and the aluminum foil layer must be reliably electrically connected at joints and terminations during installation.

Therefore, it is suitable for soil that remains damp year-round, areas frequently saturated with fresh water, or harsh conditions where groundwater intrusion is a risk.

  • Highly Water-Resistant: The “TT” suffix in the cable name indicates its special water-resistant construction. Comprehensive protection from the inside out is achieved through water-blocking yarn around the conductor, a water-blocking expansion tape beneath the metal shield, and an aluminum/PE composite tape beneath the outer jacket.
  • Special Note on CAS Shielding: The aluminum foil layer within the metal shield (CAS) is very thin, and its primary functions are to provide radial water protection and electric field shielding. During installation, it is essential to ensure that the aluminum foil layer is securely connected to the copper wires and grounding system at joints and terminals using specialized clamps; otherwise, it will fail to provide effective electrical shielding and may even cause malfunctions.
