- High-Performance Insulation: Cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) is used as the insulation material. Compared to traditional PVC insulation, it can withstand higher operating temperatures (up to 90°C) and has lower dielectric loss.
- Inner and Outer Shielding Layers: Both the conductor and the insulation are surrounded by semiconductive shielding layers, which serve to uniform the electric field and prevent partial discharge.
- Metal Shielding: A copper tape is used as the metal shielding layer to provide a path for fault currents and to provide electromagnetic shielding for the external steel wire armor.
- Robust Armor and Sheath: A key feature is the galvanized steel wire armor (SWA), which can withstand strong mechanical tensile forces and is suitable for direct burial or environments prone to external damage.
