- Substations and Power Plants: Used as transformer feeders to connect the main transformer to medium-voltage switchgear; used within power plants to connect to the plant power supply system.
- Industrial Facilities: In energy-intensive enterprises such as cement plants, steel mills, and paper mills, these cables serve as power supply trunk lines for large electric motors (e.g., grinders, fans) or are used for medium-voltage power distribution within the plant premises. Since single-core cables have a higher current-carrying capacity than three-core cables of the same cross-sectional area, they are particularly suitable for transmitting high-capacity electrical power.
- Infrastructure and Construction: Used for power connections between switching stations and distribution rooms in residential areas and commercial complexes, as well as for power supply ring networks in urban rail transit systems (such as subways).

- High current-carrying capacity: The single-core structure provides better heat dissipation than multi-core cables, allowing for the transmission of higher power capacity for the same cross-sectional area.
- Lightweight and easy to install: Individual cables are lightweight, allowing for longer reel lengths, which reduces the number of line joints and makes joint sealing simpler and more reliable.
- Non-magnetic clamps required: When securing cables, non-magnetic materials such as aluminum alloy, stainless steel, or plastic must be used; ferrous materials can form a closed magnetic circuit, leading to severe overheating.
- Metal shield grounding requires specialized design: The shield cross-sectional area must be determined based on the system’s short-circuit current, and either single-end grounding or cross-interconnection methods must be appropriately selected to control induced voltages and loop currents.
