2XS(FL)2Y / N2XS(FL)2Y A2XS(FL)2Y / NA2XS(FL)2Y cables are medium-voltage cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) insulated power cables designed in accordance with IEC 60502 and DIN VDE 0276 standards. They are suitable for 6/10 kV to 12/20 kV power transmission and distribution systems and feature a three-layer co-extruded XLPE insulation structure, with an extremely low partial discharge level (≤5 pC). It is equipped with a copper wire shield and a radial water-blocking layer made of aluminum-plastic composite tape, providing excellent moisture resistance.

  • Ultra-low partial discharge (≤5 pC): At twice the rated voltage, the partial discharge level does not exceed 5 picocoulombs. This ensures high insulation purity, significantly extends the cable’s service life, and reduces the risk of breakdown during operation.
  • Three-layer co-extruded insulation structure: The conductor shield, XLPE insulation layer, and insulation shield are produced using a three-layer simultaneous extrusion process, ensuring tight bonding between layers and effectively preventing partial discharge and interfacial air gaps.
  • Dual-layer radial water-blocking structure: An internal semiconductive water-blocking tape is filled with water-blocking material, while an external longitudinal wrap of aluminum-plastic composite tape (aluminum foil + copolymer layer) forms a tight radial water-blocking layer. This prevents moisture from seeping into the insulation from the sides and inhibits water-tree aging.
  • Metal shielding layer (copper wire + copper tape): Loosely wound copper wire is secured with a layer of 0.1 mm copper tape wrapped in the opposite direction, serving as a short-circuit current path and grounding loop, and providing a certain fault current carrying capacity.
  • The outer sheath is made of PE (polyethylene): It offers excellent resistance to moisture, acids, alkalis, and UV radiation, making it suitable for outdoor and humid environments; however, it is not flame-retardant (it will continue to burn when exposed to fire).
